Description
The AFO 1.3 kg Fire Extinguisher Ball is an automatic, throwable, dry powder fire suppression device designed to self-activate when exposed to flame or high heat. Once it comes into contact with fire (or reaches its activation temperature), it erupts and disperses its extinguishing powder in all directions, covering a 360° area. It is often placed in locations where fires can ignite and spread quickly and where immediate human response might be delayed.
The ball is typically made with an outer shell (often foam or plastic) containing a dry chemical (monoammonium phosphate) core. It may include an internal alarm (loud sound) when it activates. Its activation time is generally in the range of 3–10 seconds after contacting flame.
Key Features
Automatic / Self-Activating — No manual operation needed; it triggers by flame or heat (approx. 3–10 seconds)
360° Powder Dispersion — Covers a full spherical area, useful in enclosed or high-risk zones where fire might start from any direction
Lightweight & Compact — Gross weight is about 1.30 kg, with diameter ~ 147 mm; easy to mount or place in hazard zones
Dual Function (Alarm + Extinguish) — Many models emit a sound (≈120 dB) during activation to alert occupants while discharging the extinguishing agent
Durable Construction — Outer shell often includes foam / protective layer (e.g. 11 mm thick foam with PVC film) to resist impact and environment
